Team India returned to action after more than a month with a Test match against the West Indies on 12 July. After losing the toss, the visiting team bundled out the West Indies for just 150 runs in the first innings. Ravichandran Ashwin was the key player taking five wickets Ravindra Jadeja Three wickets. India’s fielding was also excellent Shubman Gill Fielding at short leg took a brilliant catch.

Not only for the catch, but Shubman Gill also grabbed headlines on Day 1 for his antics between overs during the West Indies innings. Fielding at short leg, Gill was seen shaking a leg to Caribbean tunes in between overs. The incident happened at the end of the 63rd over when the hosts were reeling at 148/9 with Rahkeem Cornwall opening the batting with Jomel Warrican.

Not only Gill but debutant Ishan Kishan also trended on social media for his stump mic comments throughout the day. He engaged himself in hilarious conversation with the locked-in fielders including Shubman Gill. He was also heard telling Gill that he should stand quietly to avoid being abused by the captain Rohit Sharma, Apart from this, Kishan also had a good performance on his debut as a Test wicket-keeper as he took some brilliant catches to send back Ramon Reifer and Joshua Da Silva.

As far as the match is concerned, India are in a good position at the moment after bowling out West Indies for just 150 runs. In reply, the opening pair of Rohit and debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal were bundled out for 80 runs in 23 overs. While Rohit is unbeaten on 30, Jaiswal is unbeaten on 40 after being dismissed on his 16th ball.
