The ruthlessness of this Indian side is on another level. Well, the statistics say the same. The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team began its home season after a disappointing ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Since then they have managed to win every other international game, be it T20Is, ODIs and Tests. The only drawback was India’s inability to not come close to a win against New Zealand in Kanpur. Had he done so, he would have maintained a hundred percent record as far as his home season is concerned. The home season began against New Zealand where they won the T20I series 3–0. India then again won the two-match Test series (1-0). They then defeated West Indies in a three-match ODI and three-match T20I series; The scoreline is 3-0 respectively. Then came Sri Lanka who were clean sweep in T20Is (3-0). The result was again a clean sweep in the Test (2–0).

This meant that Rohit Sharma’s India had won a 15-match home season, hence registering a win percentage of 93.7. Among Asian teams, this is the highest ever winning percentage (minimum 10 matches). The next best is by the Indian side of the 2008/9 season which won eight of their 11 matches at home while three ended in draws, hence recording a win percentage of 72.7.

In the 2000–01 season only the Australian team had a hundred percent home record. He won all his 15 matches on home soil. In terms of number of wins, 15 wins recorded by the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team is joint second. The Australian side of the 2009/10 season won 17 of their 19 matches at home, with one draw and one no result.

India extended their winning streak at home to a 15-Test series as they beat Sri Lanka by 238 runs in the second Test to conclude the day-night match in Bengaluru and win the two-Test series 2-0 on Monday. With the tourists chasing a daunting target of 447 for victory after India declared 303-9, their captain Dimuth Karunaratne worked hard to bring up his 14th Test ton (107), but wickets remained regular. Fell and he was dismissed for 208.
