Ahead of the final ODI, some members of the Indian team visited the famous Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram

After taking an unassailable lead in the 3-match series, the team India Have reached Thiruvananthapuram to play the last ODI against Sri Lanka on Sunday. The hosts are leading 2-0 and would like to effect a whitewash to end the series. On the other hand, the Dasun Shanaka-led side will be looking for a consolation win, also eyeing the required 10 points for their ICC Super League standing.

Ahead of the final ODI, some members of the Indian team visited the famous Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram. Bowling coach Paras Mhambrey like Suryakumar Yadav, Washington Sundar and Yuzvendra Chahal were seen inside the temple premises amid tight security. Pictures of the cricketers arriving at the famous spot were shared on the official Instagram account of the temple.

In another photo shared by ANI on Twitter, members of the Indian cricket team can be seen posing for a group photo along with some temple officials.

A Twitter handle called Trivandrum Updates shared a video of the players arriving at the holy shrine which has gone viral.

Having already sealed the series with contrasting wins – a comfortable defending in Guwahati and a hard-fought chase in Kolkata – Rohit’s men needed some more clinical efforts against the island nation in the last match of the tour. Will not mind.

With India playing six 50-over games in a span of 14 days – three against Sri Lanka and as many against New Zealand, Mohammed Shami’s workload will be a primary concern for the Indian team management.

In the batting department, Shubman Gill, who looked most comfortable before bowling it out on a difficult Eden Gardens pitch, dropped his guard knowing that Ishan Kishan is positioning himself as a strong contender for the opener’s role. Would not want to let it down.

As far as the Sri Lankan team is concerned, the biggest takeaway from the 50-over series will be unearthing a quality talent in opener Nuwanidu Fernando, who hit a half-century on debut.
