IND Vs SL 3rd ODI Preview: Sri Lanka will Look to Win Final Match

It was the wicket of Kusal Mendis that brought India back into the match. Kusal got a 34-run start and was looking even better.

While Nuwanidu, who made his ODI debut, batted very well. He looked calm and composed in his first international match and that too against a top quality team like India.

But he was unfortunately run out for a half-century and the visitors, Sri Lanka, lost wickets in clusters. Shanaka has been a key player for Lanka on this tour.

The innings got worse when the Sri Lankan captain was clean bowled for just two runs. The lower order gave a good fight. Nevertheless, Sri Lanka could not score more than 215 runs.

Excellent bowling effort from Sri Lanka. Despite conceding runs in the early overs, the fast bowlers took an early lead. Karunaratne and Lahiru Kumara took two wickets each.

Sri Lanka will need more effort from him in the last match of this tour. The visitors would also like their batsmen to step up. Sri Lanka might replace Hasaranga and bring back Thekshana for the final game.

Wanindu Hasaranga was economical in the second ODI in Kolkata. But he was not threatening like Kuldeep Yadav or Akshar Patel.

Sri Lanka could bring in Mahesh Thikshana for the last game and even drop Avishka Fernando who could not make it work at the top spot.

If Nissanka is fit, he should feature in the playing XI or Kusal Mendis can open the innings for him as he does in T20Is.
