Mohammad Siraj was ruled out of the field on the first day of the ongoing second Test against South Africa with a hamstring injury.

Indian senior player Ravichandran Ashwin is expected to return to Mohammad Siraj on the second day of the ongoing second Test against South Africa in Johannesburg. Indian pacer- Siraj suffered a hamstring injury on the first day of the second red-ball match against the Proteas at The Wanderers Stadium on Monday.

Siraj looked in pain after bowling the last ball of his fourth over during South Africa’s innings.

He immediately felt his hamstrings and was later off the field along with the medical staff.

Speaking to the media after the stumps, Ravichandran Ashwin was first asked about the fitness of in-form pacer Mohammad Siraj, who was taken off the field soon after what looked like a hamstring injury.

“The medical staff is assessing him overnight and obviously it’s very urgent. So initially what they do with these injuries is just ice and they watch for the next hour or two and I hope Siraj With the history of, he will definitely come out and give his best,” said Ashwin.
