India won the toss and elected to field in the third and final ODI against New Zealand at the MPCA Stadium in Indore. Rohit Sharma made two major changes to the team, resting two main front-line seamers Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj in one go and replacing them with the likes of Umran Malik and Yuzvendra Chahal. “We would have batted first, as a team we want to go out and play well. It’s a great ground to play on, it’s been a good scoring season every time we’ve been here. The important thing is to give chance to some new players who haven’t got any matches and see how they perform. We have two changes – Shami and Siraj are out, Umran and Chahal are in,” he said at the toss.

Meanwhile, New Zealand made one change as Jacob Duffy came in for Henry Shipley.

“We will have a bowl, it is a good surface and it will get better under lights. We have done well in the past and will try to do another good one here. It will be high-scoring and the nature of boundaries is short We’ve got a change, Doug Bracewell comes in for Henry Shipley,” Latham said at the toss.
