Team India captain Virat Kohli Spending quality time in the nets session ahead of the second Test against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Kohli would like to end his century drought on the surface where he scored 235 against England in 2016. The 34-year-old achieved great success with the bat, scoring 433 runs in four Tests at the Wankhede.
The captain of the Indian cricket team last scored a century in international cricket in 2019. He is contributing well with the bat but fails to reach the three-figure mark.

Ahead of the crucial clash, BCCI posted a minute long video clip of Kohli batting in the nets.
Kohli has a chance to surpass former Australia batsman Ricky Ponting’s highest number of centuries as captain in international cricket. There is a tie of 41 runs between the two batsmen.

The Indian captain missed the first Test in Kanpur to manage his workload, however, he trained with former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar at the CCI in Mumbai during that time.
“It was just to get into the rhythm of playing red-ball cricket. The idea was to get repetition and volume which is important in Test cricket, so it’s about getting into the mold of switching between formats. It’s something I’ve always tried to do. Whenever I get a chance to work for different formats, it is more mentally than anything related to technology,” Kohli said in a virtual press conference
Mumbai is witnessing heavy unseasonal rains, which has brought down the temperature drastically. In cloudy conditions due to the moisture content, seam and swing bowlers will have to be brought into the equation.
“The weather is changing and we have to keep that in mind and choose the combination accordingly,” Kohli said on the eve of the match. The strategy of three spinners can be modified for this game.
