IND vs ENG: Rohit Sharma Achieves Special Fielding Milestone

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has been commendable in terms of his captaincy role in the red ball format. Having already sealed the 5-match Test series against England in the 4th Test, Rohit is aiming to win the final Test in Dharamsala as well. Apart from his astute leadership, the Hitman has gone on to achieve another special milestone while fielding in the 1st innings of the 5th Test.

Rohit Sharma is now the first outfield player to take 60 or more catches in all formats of the game. As India limited visitors England at 218 on Day 1, Rohit achieved the feat after taking the catch of tail-ender Mark Wood courtesy of a brilliant delivery from Test veteran Ravichandran Ashwin on the day.

India’s spinner Kuldeep Yadav stood out as the top performer among the Indian bowlers, securing his fourth five-wicket haul in Tests. Kuldeep managed to take five wickets, conceding 72 runs in 15 overs on the first day of the match.

Ravichandran Ashwin, celebrating his 100th Test match milestone, provided valuable support. Ashwin took four wickets, preventing England’s lower order from making significant contributions in Dharamsala. His victims included Ben Foakes, Tom Hartley, Mark Wood, and James Anderson.
