New Delhi: Indian cricket team’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has made a tremendous comeback in the first Test of India vs England of the five-match series against England. The premier India pacer has been battling poor form for some time now and has been under the scanner for not getting wickets consistently.

In the Ind vs Eng 1st Test played at Nottingham’s Trent Bridge ground, Bumrah took a total of nine wickets and scored valuable runs in tense conditions during the match. He took four wickets in the first innings and then five wickets in the second innings against England. Sharing these two photos, he wrote, ‘Still don’t need you.’ Bumrah seems to have responded to his critics via a cryptic post.

The last day of the India vs England Nottingham Test was washed out due to rain, after which the match ended in a draw. By the fourth day of the Test, India had tightened its grip on the match. England won the toss and elected to bat, but the hosts were reduced to just 183 runs in their first innings.

In the first innings, Bumrah dismissed Rory Burns, Jos Buttler, Stuart Broad and James Anderson. In reply, India took a crucial 95-run lead after scoring 278 runs. Bumrah scored 28 runs in 34 balls, which included three fours and a six. England, batting better in the second innings, scored 303 runs and set a target of 209 runs for India to win.

In the second innings, Bumrah took the wickets of Dom Sibley, Jack Crawley, Joe Root, Sam Curran and Stuart Broad. By the end of the fourth day’s play, India were at 52/1 and needed 157 runs to win. The visitors were in driving position, but rain did not bowl a ball on the last day and the match was declared a draw.
