IND vs BAN: Kuldeep Yadav Added to India Squad for Final ODI After Multiple Injuries

Kuldeep Yadav has been included India Squad for 3rd ODI against Bangladesh after multiple injuries. While captain Rohit Sharma was ruled out due to a finger injury, fast bowlers Kuldeep Sen and Deepak Chahar were also ruled out of the final match.

The development was confirmed by the BCCI in its latest release, which stated that Yadav has been included in the squad.

Earlier, India captain Rohit Sharma suffered a thumb injury in the second over while fielding in the second ODI. He was assessed by the BCCI medical team and underwent scans at a local hospital in Dhaka. He has flown to Mumbai for specialist consultation and will miss the final ODI. A decision on his availability for the upcoming Test series will be taken later.

Fast bowler Kuldeep Sen had complained of stiffness in his back after the first ODI. He was assessed by the BCCI medical team and was advised rest from the second ODI. Kuldeep has been diagnosed with a strain injury and has been ruled out of the series.

Fellow fast bowler Deepak Chahar suffered a left hamstring strain during the second ODI and was ruled out of the series as well. Both Kuldeep and Deepak will now report to the NCA for further management of their injuries.

The All India Senior Selection Committee has included Kuldeep Yadav in the Indian squad for the third and final ODI.

Battling injuries and fitness issues on the field, the Indian team will be determined to avoid the infamy of a clean sweep against Bangladesh in the final ODI of the three-match series here on Saturday.

Riding on two contrasting but brilliant innings from Mehidy Hasan Miraj, Bangladesh have already sealed the series by winning the first two matches, but if Liton Das’ men can whitewash the ‘Men in Blue’ 3-0, it will be the first time Country’s cricket will be historic.

This will not only be icing on the cake for the hosts but will also take a huge toll on the confidence of the visiting team ahead of the Test series starting at the same venue in less than a week’s time (December 14).

For India, there were originally 20 cricketers available for this series as there was little time between the first ODI in Bangladesh and the last in New Zealand as both teams had few players in common.

Indian team for 3rd ODI against Bangladesh: KL Rahul (C) (WK), Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Shreyas Iyer, Rahul Tripathi, Ishan Kishan (WK), Shahbaz Ahmed, Akshar Patel, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Mohd. Siraj, Umran Malik, Kuldeep Yadav
