India vs Off: Rohit SharmaIndia displayed yet another act of survival Virat Kohli And Ajinkya Rahane Led his team’s comeback chase in the World Test Championship final. Handed a record target of 444, the Men in Blue ended Day 4 of the final at 164/3, losing the top three after a promising start. Kohli and Rahane are unbeaten on 44 and 20 respectively as India need 280 runs to win the final.

The Men in Blue got off to a strong start to their chase with skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill Feeling good again. While Rohit kept finding time and gaps, Gill’s classy strokes set a platform for India to capitalise. But before India could make much use of the opening stand, Scott Boland broke it down with a brilliant diving catch by Cameron Green in the gully. India continued to approach positively but both Sharma and Pujara fell fast for Kohli and Rahane to rebuild.

The duo took the lead when India were 93/3 and shared an unbeaten 71-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Gill lost his wicket to Boland in controversial fashion as Green made an indiscriminate effort down the gully at the stroke of tea when India were 41. Rohit and Pujara kept going but the former fell on a sweep Nathan LyonWhile Pujara played an uppercut to take the catch behind Cummins.

Australia gave India a tough fight in batting

The pitch on the fourth day was not a monster and this was reflected in both India and Australia’s batting on that day. The Australian team was cautious in the first session and added only 78 runs for the loss of two wickets. But after that, they went fast, Mitchell Starc and Alex Carey Added 97 runs in the second session. Cummins came out to bat after Starc was dismissed for 41 but after his departure Mohammed ShamiAustralia declared at 270/8, setting a target of 444 for India.
