Ravichandran Ashwin is now the second fastest bowler in the world after Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan to reach his 450th Test wicket.
Ravichandran Ashwin on Thursday added another feather to his illustrious cap. first opening day India vs Australia Test at Nagpur. The veteran off-spinner went past Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey in the post-lunch session to complete 450 wickets in Test cricket. Also, he surpassed Anil Kumble to become the fastest Indian bowler to reach the feat by taking his 450th wicket in his 89th Test match. The former Indian skipper, who has 619 wickets under his belt, got his 450th Test scalp against Pakistan at the Eden Gardens in 2005.

Ashwin is the second Indian and overall ninth player in the world to achieve this feat. He is now the second fastest bowler in the world to reach his 450th Test wicket, only behind legendary Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan, who reached his 80th Test match.
