Prime Minister Modi said that the coronavirus pandemic has taught the world that the global economy needs to be more diversified now.

Prime Minister Modi also highlighted Zydus Cadila’s three-dose Covid-19 DNA vaccine, which was approved by the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) last month.

“I would like to inform UNGA that India has developed the world’s first DNA vaccine. Another vaccine is in the final stages of development,” he said.

“Indian scientists are working on developing a nasal vaccine for the coronavirus,” he said.

The world’s first DNA-plasmid vaccine, developed by Cadila Healthcare (Zydus Cadila), received emergency use authorization from DCGI last month for use in adolescents 12 years and older.
