Assam employment fair: Addressing a job fair in Assam on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised quick response from the system to the demands of the people.

The Prime Minister said, “Our society is becoming aspirational. Now people do not want to wait for decades for basic amenities. In the era of Twenty20 cricket, people want faster results and hence the system needs to change.”

Home Minister Amit Shah, who attended the job fair in Guwahati, said, “The state government has fulfilled its election promise of providing 1 lakh government jobs to the youth of Assam in a free and fair manner. I would like to congratulate everyone and hope That with the blessings of Maa Kamakhya, you will make Assam a developed state in the coming days.

Addressing the event, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that his government will not stop at providing 1 lakh jobs but will continue to create more opportunities for the youth.

Sarma said, “We want to continue this environment of proving government jobs in a transparent manner. We will advertise more for additional 22,000 jobs. Apart from this, we will also create an environment for industrialization in Assam.”

Sarma had said on Tuesday that to fulfill his government’s commitment of providing one lakh government jobs, he would distribute appointment letters to 44,703 successful candidates on May 25 in Guwahati in the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah. Sarma said, “The state government has organized a program at Veterinary College Field in Khanapara, Guwahati to distribute the appointment letters, where Union HM Amit Shah will be present.”
