In multilateral attack, Congress plans to gherao BJP in Parliament on border, unemployment, farmer issues

The Congress party has intensified its aggressive approach to gherao the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament as part of its multi-pronged attack. Members of the grand-old party held a meeting on Wednesday to brainstorm on strategies to counter the saffron party on various issues.

The monsoon session of Parliament will begin on July 19 and end on August 13. This will be the first session after the second wave of COVID-19.

According to sources, several issues including unemployment, border, inflation, farmer protests, internal security, Rafale and “Covid mismanagement” were finalized in the meeting of the Congress Party’s Parliamentary Strategy Committee.

Interim Congress President Sonia Gandhi asked all party MPs to ensure that common issues are raised in both the Houses of Parliament.

Meanwhile, senior leader Mallikarjun Kharge was directed to onboard him to coordinate with other opposition parties and extend support to the Congress party on the mentioned issues.

The party has decided not to change the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, a much-awaited decision, with some indicating Rahul Gandhi’s name for the post. For now Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury will remain LOP.

Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi along with other MPs of his party walked out of the Defense Committee meeting, sources said.

Sources said that Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy wanted the border issue to be discussed as part of the agenda, but the chairman of the committee refused. India TV.
