In his letter, Manish Sisodia highlighted the urgent need to provide equal opportunities and access to education for every child, regardless of their socio-economic background.

Former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, in a letter written from Tihar Jail, has emphasized on the transformative power of education and the need for the upliftment of the underprivileged sections of the society.

The letter was shared by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Twitter.

In his letter, Sisodia highlighted the urgent need to provide equal opportunities and access to education for every child, regardless of their socio-economic background.

The former Delhi Education Minister has also urged the society to consider the consequences of neglecting the education of the less fortunate. He emphasized that denying education to the poor not only perpetuates inequality but also a cycle of hatred and violence.

“If every poor person gets a book then who will spread hatred? If everyone has work in hand, then who will wield the sword on the streets?

Stressing on the need for a strong educational foundation and its ability to overcome obstacles, Sisodia stressed that an educated society, built on knowledge and wisdom, is the key to countering divisive ideologies.

“If everyone gets a good education, then ‘WhatsApp University’ will shut down. If society is based on education and conscience, how can anyone get caught up in the delusion of hatred?”

The senior AAP leader also highlighted the empowerment that education brings, especially for the marginalised.

Underlining the importance of providing tools like pen to express ideas and aspirations, he said, “If every child of the society becomes educated, your cunningness and cleverness will be questioned. If the power of the pen reaches the poor, then they will express their thoughts freely. Sisodia stressed that providing education to every child, especially the underprivileged, would shake the foundations of inequality and injustice.

“Whether you send us to jail or hang us, this journey will not stop. If every poor child gets educated then your palace will remain empty.

Sisodia was arrested by the CBI in connection with the alleged excise policy scam. He is currently in judicial custody.
