Actress and television personality Simi Garewal has shared her reaction to the recent removal of Imran Khan from the post of Prime Minister of Pakistan. Late on Saturday night, Imran was removed from the post of Pak PM after he lost the no-confidence vote. This decision has come after many ups and downs in the country. Simi said on Twitter that she has known the cricketer-turned-politician for 40 years and shared her opinion about the incidents.
He said that Imran Khan’s departure as Pakistan’s PM teaches a united opposition that a popular PM can be sacked and there is no place for idealists in politics. He said that Imran may have some other flaws, but he is not corrupt. “#ImranKhanPrimeMinister exit teaches: 1. A united opposition can sack a popular Prime Minister. 2 Politics has no place for idealists. (I have known Imran for 40 years and he has idealism at his core). He may have other failures – but corruption is not one of them,” his tweet read.

This is not the first time Simi has tweeted about Imran. When he became Pak PM, he posted a controversial tweet about his political leadership and death, as reported by Hindustan Times. After receiving criticism for it, Simi deleted the tweet and posted a congratulatory tweet for her. “Congratulations @ImranKhanPTI. You worked tirelessly for this day. And the new difficult journey has just begun. Wishing you every success..make those dreams come true. You can do this. And stay safe,” she tweeted.
In 2016, when Imran was on a tour of India, Simi reunited with his friend and shared a picture with him. “Nice to meet an old friend (and the PM-in-waiting of Pakistan?) in Delhi. Imran Khan!” she wrote at the time. Simi had previously hosted Imran on her popular talk show A Rendezvous with Simi Garewal.
Meanwhile, all eyes are on Pakistan as to who will replace Imran Khan as the new Prime Minister of Pakistan.
