Imran Khan on Tuesday challenged the Shahbaz Sharif-led government to stop him from leading the Azadi March movement and warned that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) movement against the government will not stop. According to a report in Geo News, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan has warned the Pakistan government against arresting his party members.

Khan, who was removed from the prime minister’s office in April, told a gathering of lawyers at the Bani Gala, “The way he tortured us was not even seen during the martial law era.”

The former prime minister was talking about events leading up to May 26 – when Khan announced the withdrawal of his “freedom march” as he feared further bloodshed.

Before reaching Islamabad’s D-Chowk, three people died – a police constable and two PTI workers.

“Government is trying to put me in jail to stop our movement” […] But I am telling you, whether you put us in jail or take other measures, this movement will not stop,” the former prime minister said.

As reported by Geo News, Imran Khan further said that plans were being made to put him behind the bars, however, he added that the agitation would continue till the election dates were announced.

However, the current government has ruled out mid-term elections and said that it will complete its term.

Last Sunday, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah revealed that the decision to deploy security officers at Bani Gala to protect the PTI president was made in accordance with the law, however, “the same security” officers arrested him after his bail expired. will do.

The PTI president said that the present government has been imposed on us under a conspiracy and that is why his party is protesting. He told the gathering that it was a “decisive” time for the Pakistani nation.

This government has put the future of the country at stake.

The former prime minister said that as soon as current government officials visit the public, they start raising “anti-national” slogans to insult them, the report said.

Criticizing the Shahbaz-government for the economic turmoil, Khan said during PTI’s tenure, the gross domestic product (GDP) was 5.6 per cent in the third year and 6 per cent in the fourth year.

He said that the international credit rating agency Moody’s has changed Pakistan’s economic outlook to negative, following which Pakistan will not get loans from moneylenders, the report said.
