Asad Umar is also the head of the national body set up to control the spread of coronavirus in the country. He said people over the age of 50 are at greater risk.

In a tweet on Sunday, Asad Umar said that 5.6 million or 20.6 percent of people in that age group in Pakistan have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

Recording an increase in the infection rate, the national body has asked people to wear masks and maintain social distancing in public places.

According to officials, 27 more patients died due to COVID in Pakistan. At the same time, 1,980 new cases were reported. Due to this, the death toll from Kovid in the country increased to 22582, while the number of infected increased to 973,284.

According to the data, in the first such case, the rate of corona virus infection in Pakistan is more than four percent. The Ministry of National Health Services said that this is the first time since May 30 that the infection rate has crossed four percent. On May 30, the infection rate was recorded at 4.05 percent.

Every day the number of people found infected with the corona virus has increased three times. On June 21, 663 new cases of coronavirus were reported.
