‘Impling farmers in various problems’ has been the basis of politics for some parties: PM Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday hit out at the opposition, saying the basis of politics for some political parties has been to “implicate farmers in various problems”.

The remarks came when PM Modi addressed a gathering in Mahoba after inaugurating the ‘Arjuna Sahayak Project’.

“Engaging farmers in various problems has been the basis of politics for some political parties. They do politics of problems whereas our ‘nation policy’ aims at solving problems”: PM Narendra Modi as quoted by news agency ANI in Mahoba.

Taking another dig at the previous governments, the Prime Minister said: “For the first time, the people of Bundelkhand are seeing the government working for their development. Previous governments don’t get tired of looting UP but we don’t get tired of working.

“The people who ruled Delhi and Uttar Pradesh for a long time left no stone unturned to ruin this region. It is no secret how the forests and resources of the region were handed over to the mafia. Now when bulldozers are being used against these mafia, some people are creating a ruckus.

Praising the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, PM Modi said that “Mahoba is a witness to how we have brought the government from closed rooms in Delhi to every nook and corner of the country in the last 7 years.”

The Prime Minister inaugurated several projects in Mahoba, including the Arjun Sahayak Project, Ratoli Weir Project, Bhauni Dam Project and Mazagon-Chilli Spraying Project. The cumulative cost of these projects is over Rs 3,250 crore.

Later in the day, PM Modi will attend an event during which he will lay the foundation stone of 600 MW Ultramega Solar Power Park at Garautha in Jhansi.

In a major surprise announcement earlier today, the Prime Minister said that the Union government has decided to repeal controversial agriculture laws, which have been at the center of protests by farmers on the borders of Delhi, which will complete one year on November 26. Huh.

Hundreds of farmers, mainly from Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, have been camping at Delhi’s borders since November last year, demanding the government repeal three agriculture laws – Farmer Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) ) Act, 2020; Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Agricultural Services Act, 2020; and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.

Apart from repeal of agricultural laws, legal guarantee on Minimum Support Price (MSP) has been one of the major demands of the farmers.

“I have come to inform you that we have decided to repeal three agriculture laws. In the upcoming session of Parliament that begins later this month, we will complete the constitutional process of repeal of three agricultural laws,” said PM Modi while addressing the nation on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti.

He urged all the protesting farmers to return home to their fields and families and make a fresh start on this auspicious occasion, a day when Gurdwaras across the country are lit up to celebrate the festival.

“Let us go afresh,” he appealed.
