Over Delhi and other northern states, cold conditions will prevail during the next 24 hours and thereafter, the IMD has predicted.

From January 21, the minimum temperature will be 10 degree Celsius while the maximum will be 19 degree Celsius.

On Thursday, Delhi was covered in a blanket of fog, with the minimum temperature recorded at 9.8 degrees Celsius.

PTI quoted railway officials as saying that about a dozen Delhi-bound trains were delayed due to fog.

Meanwhile, Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) remained in the ‘very poor’ category at 340, according to SAFAR.

The levels of both PM 2.5 and PM 10 pollutants remained in ‘very poor’ and ‘poor’ categories, respectively.

The Ministry of Earth Sciences said in its bulletin that the AQI will improve and move from ‘poor’ to ‘moderate’ category on Saturday and Sunday due to rain, strong winds and better ventilation conditions.
