‘I’m still shocked’ mom describes son’s surprise birth at Dunwoody Hotel – Henry’s Club

Victoya Venice thought her son was due in two months and gave birth while she was on a business trip.

DUNWOODY, Ga. – A woman on a business trip in Georgia said the birth of her son was no April Fool’s joke. She tells of the quick delivery that happened on Friday as she was using the restroom at her Dunwoody hotel.

When she was expecting the birth of her second child, Vikotya Venis thought she knew what to do.

Venice initially thought she had worms in her stomach and didn’t think it was her child’s problem.

“I have just come back from urgent care with my daughter. And he had a bug in his stomach,” she said. “By the time I realized it was a baby and not a stool, it was too late.”

She said that Venice was using the bathroom when she gave birth.

After this happened she called her mother and emergency services and was taken to Northside Hospital, where she was staying.

Venice said doctors were as surprised as they were when they heard about her delivery.

“They actually thought that my due date was May 15 because I was so young. So it’s kind of a confrontation with them. They thought I wasn’t that tall,” she said.

A day later, the mother and child were back at the hotel but only one was resting.

Venice is a graphic designer and social media manager. She was completing a few projects as baby Rocky Andrew enjoyed his first day by his sister’s side. His new bundle of joy rested safely near Venice.

Mother said that she is planning to take some time off when she finishes her current projects. There are also plans to move back to Atlanta to be closer to her mother.

The birth of baby Rocky turned things around for Venice, who said she was initially considering adopting the child. She says that the circumstances surrounding her birth have changed her.

“I feel even more connected to him,” she said.

Holding her newborn close by, Venice looked at her son and daughter lovingly.

“No, you’re mine, I’m going to take care of you,” she said to her child. “If I can really bring you into the world by myself, I feel like I can take care of you.”

The mother said that to mark the occasion, her special delivery has an equally special name.

“Rocky is a nickname that was given to my grandfather,” she said. “And I thought it was very fitting because it was like you had a rocky start, but you’re going to be strong and you’re a fighter.”
