Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejaswi Yadav on Thursday said that he is campaigning for the Lok Sabha Election for the people even though doctors advised him to three weeks of bed rest due to severe backache. He also shared a video of himself displaying a waist belt that he is wearing to support his back.

Sharing an update on his health condition, Yadav said doctors said that he needs at least three weeks of bed rest to recover from the condition. However, he has decided to continue with his current Lok Sabha poll campaign, despite the risk it poses to his health.

“Even in this situation, I am amongst you, for you. Elections happen once in 5 years, if I don’t fight for you now, then you will have to bear poverty, inflation and unemployment for another 5 years. I will not sit quietly until I provide jobs to the youth,” Yadav wrote on X.

Earlier on May 6, Yadav underwent an MRI at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences due to the excruciating back pain during his Lok Sabha Election campaign.

On Wednesday, Yadav, in a poll rally in Jharkhand, alleged that the Centre is trying to “change” the Constitution of the country and “snatch reservation quota” from SC, ST and OBC categories.

He also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of meting out “step-motherly treatment to Jharkhand”.

“PM Modi and the BJP-led NDA want to change the Constitution of India but I promise no one can change our Constitution and snatch your reservation. We will thwart such an attempt,” the former Bihar deputy chief minister said at a rally at Chhatarpurin in Jharkhand’s Palamu in favour of INDIA bloc candidate Mamta Bhuiyan.
