IISc Bangalore top university, JNU retains second place; Improvement in Jamia’s ranking: NIRF Ranking 2021

IISc Bangalore is the top university after JNU and BHU at the second and third positions under the university category. Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan NIRF Ranking 2021 released today through virtual event. This year Calcutta University has been ranked fourth while Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is at number five.

Despite facing several turbulent months last year, Jamia Millia Islamia entered the top 10 universities of the country. This year, it has improved its rank from 10 to 6. Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), which saw student protests over the fee hike, has retained its position as the second best university in the country after IISc-Bangalore.

Rank 4: Calcutta University

Rank 8: Jadavpur University
Rank 9: University of Hyderabad
Rank 10: Aligarh Muslim University

in totality, IISc is the second highest ranked institute followed by IIT Madras. In the category of new research institutes, IISc Bangalore has secured the first position, followed by IIT Madras and IIT Bombay at the second and third positions respectively. IIT Delhi and IIT Kharagpur are at the fourth and fifth positions.
