Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur A new category, the ‘Best Web Series’ award was announced for the International Film Festival of India. The award will be given to an original web series on an OTT platform, originally shot and available in an Indian language.
In a statement, Anurag said, “Delighted to announce the @IFFIGoa Best Web Series Award, given to an exceptional web series for its artistic merit, storytelling excellence, technical prowess and overall impact. India Extraordinary Full of talent; I encourage you.” To tell the story of a rising and aspirational New India – ready to lead the world with billions of dreams and billions of untold stories!”
“The award will be given to an original web series on an OTT platform, originally shot and available in an Indian language. The objective of the award is to encourage and create investment opportunities in the OTT sector of India, encourage content in Indian languages The objective is to recognize and promote exceptional talent. “The growth and innovation of the OTT industry. The award will be presented every year at the 54th International Film Festival of India starting this year,” he added.
Meanwhile, the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) has opened entries for Indian films in both feature and non-feature sections to be screened under the Indian Panorama section at IFFI. The Indian Panorama section is a major asset of IFFI and aims to promote films in Indian languages that are selected by an eminent jury and screened at IFFI as well as at international film festivals in India and abroad.
A maximum of 26 films will be selected in the Feature and 21 films in the Non-Feature section. The selection will include Best Feature Film and Best Non-Feature Film of the 2023 National Film Awards. August 10, 2023 is the last date for submission.
About International Film Festival of India
The International Film Festival of India 2023 to be held annually will be held in Goa from 20 November to 28 November. Recently, the nominations were announced which included names of films like ‘Kantara’, ‘Darlings’, ‘Ponniyin Selvan II’ and others.
