From today, there will be an online challan for breaking the traffic rules in the capital Lucknow.

If you ignore the traffic rules on the roads of the capital Lucknow, then now you will have to pay a fine. From today i.e. from July 1, the system of online challan has been implemented at 132 intersections of the city. Meaning, now if you break the traffic rules at these intersections, the challan will reach your home directly.

700 hi-tech CCTV cameras have been installed at these intersections for monitoring. This will automatically take your photo. Then the traffic police will send the challan to your address. It will be challaned by the ITMS server attached to the NIC on the basis of the train number. Its message will also immediately reach the mobile number of the owner of the vehicle which will be registered in the RTO. In this, the details of the reason, time and amount of the challan will be with the photo.

In this new system, 100 people have been challaned online till 7 am till 12 noon. Officials of Technoshish, an organization looking after the work here, said that the first challan was done around 10 am. The car rider had broken a single at the Polytechnic intersection. A large number of people riding bikes. who were not wearing helmets. At the same time, challan has also been done for not wearing seat belt in the car. At many places people had also crossed the zebra line. Since morning, the highest number of challans have been made at Ahimamau, Hazratganj, Bara Birwa, 1090, Warlington intersections. In this, the number of people in the car was more for the first two hours.

This fine will be imposed for breaking the rules

  • For not wearing helmet – 1000 rupees.
  • For not wearing seat belt – 1000 rupees.
  • Talking on mobile while driving – Rs 5000.
  • Dangerous driving – Rs 5,000.
  • In case of non-insurance – Rs 2,000.

Already arranged at 52 intersections
This system is not new. Till now this system was applicable at 52 intersections of the city. In this, 80 intersections have been included. The city has 511 small and big squares. According to ACP Traffic Saifuddin Baig, now the traffic of the city will be operated through ITMS. In all major intersections of the city as well as in the main markets, traffic personnel will take photographs and challan. To avoid challan, people will also be made aware of public address system to follow traffic rules.

Work was stopped due to lack of data of vehicle number
Due to non-receipt of data of vehicles of many small cities from NIC, there was problem in the challan process. For this many times the traffic department had written letters to the concerned officials. The data of all vehicles became available from NIC as soon as the Chief Minister ordered to implement ITMS in every city. With this, the process of online challan will start from July 1.

Special monitoring on those who break these rules

  • If the vehicle is outside the zebra line at the time of traffic stop, then it will be challaned
  • Helmets of both the riders (above four years) on two wheelers and the third ride.
  • Drivers who drive faster than the prescribed speed limit
  • Sheet belt in four wheeler.
  • Intoxicants and mobile use while driving.
  • Vehicle in the hands of minor.
  • Running in single direction and rogue side.

  • A two-wheeler rider caught doing stunts will have to pay a fine of ten thousand rupees.
  • There will be a penalty of ten thousand rupees on issues like noise, air pollution, dark film on cars etc.
  • If a minor drives a vehicle, a fine of Rs 25,000 will be imposed. The registration of the vehicle will be canceled for a year. Kishor’s DL will not be made till the age of 25 years.
