New Delhi: Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij has targeted Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, saying that if he does this a vow of silence (Fast of Silence) Forever, it will bring peace to both the Congress and the country.

Navjot Singh Sidhu made the remarks on Saturday after Ashish Mishra, son of Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni, appeared before the crime branch in the ongoing investigation into the Lakhimpur Kheri violence.

“Navjot Singh Sidhu has observed a fast of silence. If he observes the fast of silence permanently, the Congress will get a lot of peace and the country will also get a lot of peace,” Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij told news agency ANI in Chandigarh.

Targeting the Congress, the minister said that the party is a ship which is about to sink.

“There is internal strife in Congress. When a ship starts sinking, it starts to falter. Similarly, they are faltering again and again. It is indicating that the Congress ship is about to sink,” commented Anil Vij.

Speaking about the Lakhimpur Kheri case, he said: “The UP government is taking absolutely fair action”.

Meanwhile, he also appreciated the farmers of Haryana and said that they are very intelligent. “They are well aware that stubble burning damages the environment and also reduces the fertility of the land. Hence, the farmers of Haryana are always vigilant in this matter and the farmers are also informed about this from time to time by the government,” he was quoted as saying by ANI.

Navjot Singh Sidhu’s ‘silent dharna’

Navjot Singh Sidhu started his fast at Lakhimpur Kheri in UP on Friday. Seeking the arrest of Union Minister of State Ajay Mishra’s son, Sidhu had said that he would go on hunger strike if action was not taken against him by Friday.

As Ashish did not come for questioning after the first summons, Sidhu met the family of 28-year-old journalist Raman Kashyap, one of the eight killed in the violence, and went on a fast at his home in Nighasan tehsil of Lakhimpur Kheri Went. .

Accused Ashish Mishra on Saturday appeared for questioning before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the Crime Branch of Police Lines in connection with the Lakhimpur Kheri violence.

He was produced after a second summons the previous day after he did not appear for questioning.

Following the development, the ‘silent dharna’, which began outside the local journalist’s house at 6.15 pm on Friday, ended at around 11.30 am on Saturday, news agency PTI reported.

After ending his fast, Sidhu wrote on Twitter: “May God give me the strength to fight for a just cause…the path of truth will always prevail.”
