‘If shops are forcibly closed…’: Nitesh Rane warns of Maharashtra government’s shutdown over Lakhimpur violence

BJP MLA and Union Minister Narayan Rane’s son, Nitesh, on Sunday warned the Maharashtra government not to force shopkeepers to close their shops during the ‘bandh’ call against the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. The BJP MLA from Kankavli constituency has asked the police to ensure that no one is forced to close the shops otherwise law and order situation will prevail.

The minister further said that MVA workers will have to face BJP workers if the shops are forcibly closed.

“If the shopkeepers are “forced” by any of the MVA workers to close the shops tom.. they will have to face the BJP workers! The police ensure that no one is forced otherwise law and order is maintained. Situation will happen which is not our responsibility! !,” Nitesh Rane wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has said that his party will participate in full force in Maharashtra’s bandh on October 11 to protest the killing of farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh.

Three aides of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra have appealed to the people to wholeheartedly support Monday’s state-wide bandh to protest the killing of four farmers in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri.

The ruling allies Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress have called for a bandh.
