‘If India belongs to someone…’: Owaisi takes a dig at BJP-RSS for blaming Mughals

Asaddudin Owaisi takes dig on BJP-RSS: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday took a dig at the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), for blaming Mughals. During an address in Maharashtra’s Bhiwandi, Owaisi claimed that India belonged to Dravidians and Adivasis, but the BJP-RSS only blamed Mughals.
“India is neither mine, nor Thackeray’s, nor Modi-Shah’s. If India belongs to anyone, it is Dravidian and Adivasi, but only after Mughals is BJP-RSS,” he said. Owaisi also claimed that India was formed after the migration of people from Africa, Iran, Central Asia and East Asia.
Earlier too, Owaisi had hit out at the BJP, saying the ruling party at the Center wanted to take the country back to the 1990s when riots took place.
The AIMIM chief also took up the Varanasi court’s order directing the sealing of the area of the Gyanvapi Masjid where the Hindu side claimed to have found a ‘Shivling’ during the survey, and said that the court’s The order was “wrong”.
On Friday, Owaisi urged the Supreme Court to “walk the talk” on the Gyanvapi Masjid case, recalling the apex court’s statements during the hearing of the Ram temple case.
Speaking to reporters, Owaisi said, “If the Supreme Court has asked to allow religious rituals, it also includes talab se vaju.” He further said that one cannot offer Namaz unless one performs ‘Wazu’.
Wudu or Wudu is a washing and cleaning ritual that is performed before offering prayers. The fountain can be preserved but the pond should be open, Owaisi said.
