The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday announced the schedule of next year’s Women’s Cricket World Cup, which will be played in New Zealand. In the opening match of the tournament, the White Ferns will face West Indies at the Bay Oval in Tauranga on March 4. The summit clash is due to take place on 3 April at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch.
Defending champions England will start their campaign against Australia on 5 March. For millions of Indian cricket fans, March 6 is a date to remember. This is when India is set to take on bitter rival Pakistan the next day. In the second match of the tournament, Bangladesh will take on South Africa at the University Oval Dunedin on March 5.
A total of 31 games will be played between eight teams during the marquee event, including three knockout games, to determine the new world champion.
