ICC Women’s ODI Rankings: Captain Mithali Raj Slips To 7th, Smriti Mandhana Moves To 9th In Batting Charts

India captain Mithali Raj slipped a place to seventh in the ICC Women’s ODI Batsmen’s Rankings released on Tuesday but star opener Smriti Mandhana slipped to ninth spot.

After her bottom-line performance in the recently concluded Women’s World Cup, Mithali slipped down a notch in the charts with 686 rating points. The veteran India captain scored 182 runs in seven matches at an average of 26.

In comparison, Mandhana (669 points) scored 327 runs in seven matches at an average of 46.71 with a best of 123 in the showpiece.

Apart from these two, vice-captain Harmanpreet Kaur has gained a place to reach 14th position.

Harmanpreet has been India’s second-best batsman in the World Cup with 318 runs in seven matches. His highest was 109.

Australian keeper-batsman Alyssa Healy rose to the top of the batsmen rankings after a stunning 170 in the final against England.

The Australian’s scintillating innings propelled her to the number one spot, ending South African opener Laura Wolvaardt’s brief stay at the summit.

Healy, 32, scored 509 runs in his nine matches at the World Cup at a strike rate of 103.66, including two centuries and two half-centuries.

Healy finished just ahead of compatriot Rachel Haynes as the tournament’s top scorer.

Four Australians remained in the top six in the latest ODI rankings, with Beth Mooney, Meg Lanning and Haynes joining Healy among the world’s top-order batsmen.

England all-rounder Nat Sciver’s unbeaten 148 in the World Cup final lifted him to the second spot in the batting rankings.

The English star’s scintillating effort saw her grab Ellyse Perry, claiming the top spot in the all-rounder rankings.

In the bowlers’ rankings, England spinner Sophie Ecclestone remains at number one, while South African pacer Shabnim Ismail has moved up to second place after a stellar tournament.

Veteran swing bowler Anya Shrubsole was the biggest mover in the latest bowling rankings, jumping five places to break into the top 10 after figures of 2/27 in the semi-finals and 3/46 in the final.

Veteran India pacer Jhulan Goswami held on to the fifth spot.

Goswami also maintains her 10th position in the all-rounders’ rankings, with another Indian Deepti Sharma at seventh.
