ICC Awards: India opener Smriti Mandhana wins ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year 2021

Despite the year 2021 being tough, Smriti Mandhana left a mark on her performance on the field. In the limited-overs home series against South Africa, India could win only two out of eight matches, and in both, Smriti played the role of a facilitator. He scored an unbeaten 80 in the second ODI and played an unbeaten knock of 48 runs in the last T20. He scored 78 runs in the first innings in the one-off Test against England which ended in a draw. At the same time, 49 runs were added to India’s only win in the ODI series. He also scored 29 runs in 15 balls and a half-century in the T20I series but India lost the series 2-1.

Mandhana scored her maiden Test century against Australia

Smriti Mandhana scored 86 runs in the second match of the ODI series against Australia. In the only test of his career, he scored a century and was the player of the match. Mandhana made India’s first day and night Test memorable by scoring a century in the match.
