ibrahim: I Will Resign As Mlc On Feb 14: Cm Ibrahim | Mysuru News – Times of India

Mysuru: Former Union minister and senior Congress leader CM Ibrahim said that he will resign as a member of the legislative council on February 14.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Ibrahim said that he will tour the state to gauge public opinion, before resigning from his post as MLC, in the third week of this month. “I am in contact with political party leaders, including from the BJP and JD(S). I will continue in politics by joining a political party,” he said.
Stating that his name which was recommended for the post of opposition leader in legislative council from the state Congress was changed overnight, Ibrahim said that he had the support of 19 members out of 22 members in the council. “I have no idea who is behind this. I have been denied the post as I belong to a minority community. former minister UT Khader has been appointed as the deputy leader in assembly, to prevent minority votes from going to other parties,” he contended.
Claiming that the popular Anna Bhagya and Ksheera Bhagya programs, which were implemented during the Siddaramaiah government were his ideas, Ibrahim said that Siddaramaiah’s political career would have ended, if he had not worked during the Chamundeshwari bypoll.
“During the previous assembly elections, I warned Siddaramaiah not to contest from the Chamundeshwari segment, but he did not listen. We made him contest from Badami, and worked for his victory. He has forgotten it,” he said, and added that a large public conference will be held either in North Karnataka or Davanagere, where political leaders and leaders from the minority, Lingayat and Vokkaliga communities will participate, to bring about a change in state politics.
