Anand Mohan had come on parole for son’s engagement. On April 23, the preparations were reviewed in Patna.
Orders have been issued for the release of Bihar’s Bahubali leader Anand Mohan. The order came on the day of his son’s engagement. He was out on parole for 15 days only for the engagement. Saharsa will go to jail after parole ends on Tuesday. They will come out on Wednesday after the completion of the jail process.

Was sentenced to life imprisonment after being convicted of murdering DM
Gopalganj’s DM G Krishnaiah was murdered on December 4, 1994 in Muzaffarpur. Anand Mohan was sentenced to life imprisonment in October 2007 in this murder case. Since then he is in jail. According to the prison manual, he could have got remission after completing 14 years of his sentence, but due to a change in the prison manual in 2007, he was not able to come out.
Now the government has changed the rules to get them out of jail. After this, orders for the release of 27 people including Anand Mohan were issued on Monday. Anand Mohan has 3 more cases going on. In this, he has already got bail.
Got the benefit of prison manual amendment
On 10 April 2023, the Bihar Government amended Rule-481 (i) (a) of the Bihar Jail Manual, 2012 to remove the phrase which included the murder of a government servant. After this amendment, now the murder of a government servant on duty will not be counted in the category of exception, rather it will be considered as an ordinary murder.
After this amendment, the process of getting rid of Anand Mohan became easier, because Anand Mohan was convicted only in the case of murder of a government official.
Anand Mohan said – I know Kalavati, not Mayawati
Anand was on parole for his son’s engagement to Mohan. After receiving the release order, former UP CM Mayawati said – Dalits have felt sad due to this decision of the government. On this, Anand Mohan said- I do not know Mayawati, I only know Kalavati, the story of Lord Satyanarayan. He said- The culprits of Bilkis Bano gangrape in Gujarat were also released.
This picture of Anand Mohan is from 1994. The District Magistrate of Gopalganj G Krishnaiah was murdered in the same year. The mob first beat him and then shot him. Anand Mohan was accused of inciting the crowd.
Opposition said – criminals will come out and spread hooliganism
Politics has started in Bihar on the release of former MP Anand Mohan. Leader of Opposition Vijay Sinha asked the Nitish government what amendment was done by the government in 2016. It was said – no one will be spared. What a compulsion today.

Government’s gift on the day of son’s engagement
Anand Mohan’s son Shivhar MLA Chetan Anand got engaged on Monday evening. An order for the release of Anand Mohan was issued on the very day of the engagement. Many leaders of Bihar including Chief Minister Nitish Kumar participated in this engagement. The engagement rituals took place with great fanfare. On the day of the engagement, the Bihar government gave him a big gift of release.
Got parole for the third time in 6 months
- Daughter Surbhi Anand was engaged on November 7, for which Anand came out of jail on parole on November 5. When the parole ended on November 21, he went to jail.
- He came out of jail again on parole on February 5 regarding Surbhi’s marriage and was sent to jail on February 21 after getting married.
- Got parole for 15 days for the engagement of son RJD MLA Chetan Anand. Chetan Anand got married on 16th April, got engaged on 24th April. The marriage is going to happen in Dehradun on 3rd May. For the third time in the last 6 months, he has come out of Saharsa Mandal Jail on parole.
After the murder, Uma Krishnaiah demanded justice by taking the picture of her husband Krishnaiah.
The DM was thrashed by the mob, then shot dead
The District Magistrate of Gopalganj G Krishnaiah was returning from Hajipur to Gopalganj on 5 December 1994. Meanwhile, in Muzaffarpur, on seeing the DM’s vehicle, supporters of Anand Mohan, people attacked him. First they were beaten, then shot dead.
It was alleged that Anand Mohan had instigated the mob. In 2007, 12 years after the incident, the Lower Court convicted him and sentenced him to death. This was the first case in independent India, in which a politician was given death sentence.
In 2008, the High Court converted this sentence to life imprisonment. In the year 2012, Anand Mohan appealed to the Supreme Court to reduce the sentence. The court rejected his demand.
This year, on February 15, Anand Mohan’s daughter was married in Patna. CM Nitish Kumar participated in this.
Nitish called Anand his friend
The demand for the release of Anand Mohan had been going on for a long time. Different arguments were being given for this. On January 23 this year, the death anniversary ceremony of Maharana Pratap was held at Miller High School in Patna. In this the supporters of Anand Mohan demanded his release.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who was present in the program, announced from the stage itself that he was thinking about the release of Anand Mohan. work is being done. Then he had said that Anand Mohan has been our friend. When he went to jail, we went to meet him.
