Virat Kohli went through a testing phase in his cricket career which affected him mentally and he took a break from the game.
batting star of india Virat Kohli Has been quite vocal about the struggles he faced during a lean phase of his struggling career before the turnaround in the Asia Cup last year. Kohli took a break from the game, a period that saw him not pick up a cricket bat for a month as he rediscovered his love for the game.
Kohli went through a drought of a century, across all formats, which lasted almost three years. In the 2022 Asia Cup, he ended the long wait with a maiden T20I century followed by an ODI century later that year and then a Test century in 2023.

Kohli remembers his wife in conversation with Robin Uthappa on JioCinema Anushka Sharma Kept him grounded and helped him handle public pressure.
“When you go back from a place like that, it’s easy to immediately go like, ‘Ah, everything is great and it’s okay.’ She knows it. She’s been there for so many years. She knows what it takes to handle public pressure. So, her interactions with me have always been priceless. She tells me the truth, simple Kohli said.
Kohli admits that if Anushka was not there, he would have gone into a different zone, becoming an ‘arrogant maniac’.
“There’s no mollycoddling. Because nobody else is (real). There’s always a lot of layers. She’s like, I have a responsibility to tell you the truth. So, the way she talked during that phase, it There was something that was holding me back. If I had been left alone only to find out, I would have become a cocky maniac. I would have become even more irritable, but for that she brings me down to the bottom where two people Should be on the same level, should be normal, should grow together,” he said.

Kohli also touched on the impact his daughter has had on his outlook.

“Then when you have a child, one of the things you learn while you are a child is to be present. And I never existed. Everything she (Vamika) does at the moment, is happy to see a carrot,” he said.
