‘I will be the first person to stand next to him’: ‘rumours’ of rift with former opener MS Dhoni

Former India opener Gautam Gambhir has once again addressed his bonding with former captain MS Dhoni, claiming that all is well between them. The cricketer-turned-politician has often made statements in public that led many to believe the rift between the two cricketers.

Be it Gambhir’s remarks on his innings of 97 runs in the 2011 World Cup final or Dhoni’s leadership, fans have often criticized him for his critical comments.

But Gambhir has strongly rejected any dispute with Dhoni. Speaking with Jatin Sapru in a YouTube show titled ‘Over and Out’, the former opener said that he has great respect for the legendary wicketkeeper-batsman and will always be the first to stand by him.

“Look, I have a lot of respect for him and it will always be there. I have called it on air, I will say it on your channel, I can say it anywhere in front of 138 crore people, that if ever needed, I hope it will never be needed, but sometime in life it is needed So, because of what he has done for Indian cricket, what he has done as a human being, I will be the first person to stand next to him.

“Look, we can have differences of opinion, you can look at the game in a different way, I can look at the game in a different way. I have my own opinion; he has his own opinion. I really long for I have been the vice-captain when he was the captain… We have been rivals on the field when we played for our respective teams. But I have a lot of respect for him, for the kind of person, what kind of person he is. cricketer,” he said.

Gambhir reiterated that Dhoni would have broken all batting records if he had batted at number. 3.
