‘I Was Surprised When Aamir Khan Approached For ‘Lahore,1947,’ Reveals Sunny Deol

The upcoming film ‘Lahore, 1947’ produced under the banner of Bollywood’s ‘Mr. Perfectionist’ Aamir Khan Productions is one of the most awaited films of Indian cinema. Three big names of the industry are coming together with this period drama, as the trio of Sunny Deol, Rajkumar Santoshi and Aamir Khan have come together for the first time in this film.

The big announcement of the film has increased the excitement among the audience to watch the production of these industry giants. What makes this announcement even more impressive is that there has been a competitive atmosphere between Sunny Deol and Aamir Khan many times in the past, where both the superstars have been seen victorious.

The first historic face-off at the box office took place in 1990, when Aamir Khan’s ‘Dil’ and Sunny Deol’s ‘Ghayal’ were released on the same day. Then in 1996, it was ‘Raja Hindustani’ vs ‘Ghatak’, followed by Indian cinema’s most epic box office clash in 2001, when ‘Lagaan’ released on the same day as ‘Gadar’. In such a situation, both the stars have joined hands for the first time.

Recently, during his tour of ‘Koffee with Karan Season 8’, host Karan Johar asked Sunny Deol to share the moment when he and Aamir decided to work together. Responding to which Sunny Deol said, ‘When Aamir Khan came to the party of blockbuster Gadar 2, he came to me and said that he wanted to meet me. I was surprised to know what he was planning to do. So when we met we discussed some ideas and possibilities for collaboration and after that, we came up with this project and that’s how it happened.

Talking about ‘Lahore 1947’, Aamir Khan will take over as producer under Aamir Khan Productions, while director Rajkumar Santoshi will helm the project, and Sunny Deol will be seen in the lead role in the film. In such a situation, the arrival of this brilliant trio of Sunny, Aamir and Santoshi on this tremendous project cannot be missed.

After the iconic cult classic Andaz Apna Apna, Lahore 1947 marks the reunion of Aamir Khan and Santoshi. Apart from this, Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny Deol have given three box office hits together like ‘Ghayal’, ‘Damini’ and ‘Ghatak’. So with such a strong track record, it’s natural to guess that his next project will be epic.
