Chennai: The havoc of match-fixing is not taking its name to stop. Former Tamil Nadu all-rounder R Satisho Earlier this month, he was approached on social media to fix the match and he was offered Rs 40 lakh. The 41-year-old player told TOI that he declined the offer and filed a complaint international cricket council (ICC), control board for cricket (BCCI) and Bengaluru Police in India.
Satish said that a person named ‘Approach’ had created Bunny Anand On Instagram. “Earlier this month I received a message on my . instagram Cause. I immediately declined the offer and thought it was my duty to report the matter. I informed the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) of BCCI and on their advice went to file a police complaint a few weeks back.
Presently Satish is part of Current Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) Champion Chepauk Super Gillies. he had previously played for IPL Franchises like Mumbai Indians, Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders.
It is also learned that the person concerned claimed that two players have already agreed to his offer. However, it is not known whether Sathish was given match-fixing in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL). “I was not told anything specifically about fixing TNPL games,” Satish said.
TNPL was embroiled in controversy a few years back when allegations of spot-fixing and match-fixing surfaced. However, the BCCI cleared the league of corruption charges as they did not find any conclusive evidence to prove any misconduct.
BCCI ACU chief Shabbir Khandwawala also said that his unit will investigate the matter. “Satish informed us and the ICC earlier this month that he was offered money to fix matches. Since we are only facilitators in such matters, we advised him to file a police complaint. He It has done so and now the police will investigate and take necessary action,” Khandwawala said.
Satish said he was ready to cooperate with the authorities. Satish said, “I had to give clarification in this matter, so I complained. Now, if the police and authorities want to investigate the matter, I am ready to cooperate with them. We need to keep the game clean.” ”
