Roundglass Punjab FC is set to take on Aizawl FC in their next match of the Hero I-League 2021-22 season on March 11 (Friday), with the fixture and kick-off scheduled to be held at the Kalyani Stadium in West Bengal. Till 4.30 pm.
The club are currently ranked second in the league’s points table, having scored seven points from three matches so far. In their last match, Roundglass Punjab FC beat Kenkre FC 4–0 as Kurtis Guthrie scored a goal each along with Gurtej Singh and Robin Singh.
Speaking to the media at the official pre-match press conference today on 10th March, Roundglass Punjab FC head coach Ashley Westwood said, “We are riding on the back of a good result coming into this game where we score four goals. succeeded in Game time for some young players too. With a congested campaign ahead of us, it’s good to use quite a few players in three games so far. We’re excited to keep going, take each game as it comes, and see where we stand at the end of the season. ,
Westwood shared his assessment of Mizoram’s opponents yesterday, saying, “Aizawl FC is a team that has a lot of good players. We know he will be fit and not afraid to get on the ball and play. They have a rights-based style, and we’re not taking them lightly. We are expecting a tough game and need to prepare and apply ourselves properly to get three points.”
Robin, who scored Roundglass Punjab FC’s fourth goal on Tuesday, said, “There are a lot of positive things for us from our last match and we want to take that momentum with us to the next one against Aizawl FC. Personally, I am happy. I have scored a goal. However, my focus is only on the next match and I am making every possible contribution to the success of the team.
