‘I fainted’: Chahal recalls when a ‘drunk cricketer’ hung him from 15th floor balcony

Yuzvendra Chahal’s association with Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is yielding positive results for the franchise. RR is the third franchise for which Chahal is playing in the IPL. He started his journey in the league with Mumbai Indians and then became an integral part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) camp. The 31-year-old recently shared a spine chilling incident from his MI days when a ‘drunk cricketer’ hanged him at the age of 15.th destination.

Chahal revealed the story in conversation with teammates Ravichandran Ashwin and Karun Nair and the video of the same was shared on the official social media of the Royals.

“I never told this story, from today everyone will know. I never shared it. It was in 2013 when I was with Mumbai Indians, we had a match in Bangalore. After that we met. So, there was a player who was very drunk, I will not name his name. He was very drunk, he was watching me for a long time and he called me and he took me out and he hung me on the balcony,” Chahal said.

“And my hands were around him, like this (behind the neck). If I had lost my grip, I would have been on the 15th floor. Suddenly many people present there came and held him. I fainted, they told me Water was given. Then I realized how responsible we should be when wherever we go. So, this was one incident in which I felt that I have narrowly escaped. If there was even the slightest mistake, I would have fallen down Would go,” he added.

As Chahal said, the incident was never talked about publicly and this is the first time fans have come across this anecdote.
