‘I am still not sure why I was dropped…’ – Discarded India batter eager to make a comeback in Test team

Vihari last played for India against England in Birmingham almost a year ago and has since lost his place in the team. He is best remembered for his match-saving knock against Australia in Sydney during the famous series win in the 2020-21 tour. Vihari scored 20 and 11 in his last Test for India batting at number three and did not get many chances at the said position.

He played a total of 16 Tests and scored 839 runs at an average of 33.56, including one century and five half-centuries. On being dropped from the Indian team, Vihari said, “It took me a long time to understand why I was dropped and then got motivated to try to make a comeback. I would try to work on my game mentally. However, Vihari is not giving up on his place in the Indian team and is working hard to make a comeback. “Until you retire, there is always hope that you can make a comeback. I am still 29 and there is still a long way to go.
