HyderabadIn a twisted incident, a Hyderabad man allegedly killed his friend for texting and calling his girlfriend, according to the police. He was reportedly in a relationship with the victim earlier. The accused surrendered himself on Friday (February 24), which initiated the investigation into this horrific case. Police recovered the body of the deceased and took it for post-mortem to the local government hospital.
Police said the accused beheaded the victim, removed her genitals and heart and chopped off her fingers.
Why did the accused ‘murder’ his friend?
The story of the three people involved in this is from the college. The victim Naveen and the accused Harihar Krishna studied together in a college in Dilsukhnagar. Both fell in love with the same girl during college. However, Naveen asks the girl out first, so Naveen and the girl start dating for a few years. Later, the two broke up and the girl entered into a relationship with Harihar after he proposed to her, police quoted ANI as saying.
According to the police, after Naveen broke up with the girl, the two kept in touch and kept talking over calls and messages. It appears that the accused Harihar, who was dating the girl, got incensed at the closeness between his girlfriend and Naveen and took the extreme step of killing his friend after three months of deliberation.
On that fateful night of February 17, Harihar allegedly strangulated Naveen to death after a scuffle. “The accused allegedly took pictures and sent them to his girlfriend on WhatsApp,” the police were quoted as saying by ANI. Officials said that a detailed investigation of the matter is being done.
