Hyderabad received 24 percent more rain in three months

Hyderabad: The rain god has been very generous to Hyderabad this monsoon, with the city receiving over 24 per cent rainfall. After a few days of incessant rains across the city, the rains stopped on Tuesday, officials said, adding that this year’s southwest monsoon was vigorous over Telangana and especially in Hyderabad.

He said that from June 1 to September 7, Hyderabad has received 24 percent more rainfall so far.

While almost all areas of the city received excess rainfall, the residents of Maredpally received 46 per cent excess rainfall in these three months. The city received the highest rainfall of 745.6 mm in this region as against the normal seasonal rainfall of 509.4 mm.

Many other areas including Musheerabad, Ameerpet, Shaikpet, Asifnagar and Trimulgheri also received 30-40 per cent excess rainfall.

According to the Automatic Weather Stations (AWS) data of Telangana State Development Planning Society, moderate to heavy rains are likely to continue at many places in the city for the next two days.
