European football’s governing body UEFA said on Friday that Hungary has been ordered to play its next two games behind closed doors after fans were sanctioned for discriminatory behavior during European Championship matches in Budapest. The events took place during Hungary’s group stage matches against Portugal, France and Germany, all held at the Puskas Arena.

UEFA has penalized the Hungarian Football Federation for playing its next three UEFA competition matches behind closed doors, the third of which is being suspended for a two-year probation period.

The national federation was also fined 100,000 euros ($118,670.00) for discriminatory treatment of its supporters, including fans displaying banners with “Anti-LMBTQ” – Hungarian for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer short name.

UEFA has also ordered the Hungarian Football Federation to display a banner with the words “Equal Game” during their upcoming matches without spectators in stadiums.
