Huge expense on cancellation of Kia EV6 booking: There is a cancellation charge of 50k

Kia has started accepting pre-orders for its upcoming EV6 electric car. The launch is slated to happen next month, but buyers can place orders for an amount of Rs 3 lakh. Currently, the company is accepting offline bookings through select dealerships. At the same time, online booking can be done through the company’s website. Kia is only accepting pre-orders for only 100 units of the Kia EV6, but don’t plan on making your bookings in a hurry. The South Korean carmaker has also placed a cancellation charge for EV6 bookings. So canceling the booking of your Kia EV6 will cost you Rs 50,000.

In terms of deliveries, the AWD models will start hitting the showroom floors by September, while the 2WD models will land only by December. The EV6 is based on a skateboard architecture, developed specifically for electric vehicles. It will be sold with a battery pack of 77.4 kWh.

The 2WD trim will make 229 horsepower, while the AWD model will produce 325 hp of peak power output. The latter does 0-100 kmph in just 5.2 seconds. Plus, with the ultra-fast DC charger, it only takes 18 minutes to charge the EV6 to 80 percent.

The Kia EV6 is expected to be priced between Rs 60-65 lakh, it will take on the Volvo XC40 Recharge and the BMW i4. Along with a strikingly gorgeous design, the EV6 also gets a neat and tidy interior. The EV comes with a curved panel, which houses two 12.3-inch displays for the infotainment unit and instrument cluster. Also, it gets 64-colour ambient lighting, a 14-speaker Meridian sound system, powered and ventilated seats, ADAS safety technology and more.
