How this Emery-run school in Kashmir is shaping India’s future

Srinagar: Indian emery, which has protected the country from external forces, has now taken the responsibility of shaping India’s future. The force has started an initiative to provide education to the children living in Machil sector of North Kashmir. For this purpose, Army Goodwill School was started in the year 2001. Till October 2019, the area was plagued by ceasefire violations and shelling. These children had to run to save their lives when Pakistan would resort to firing from across the border. However, after the ceasefire agreement, these children are getting quality education peacefully in this school run by the Indian Army. Indian Army is trying to provide the best possible education to these children.

”The school started in 2001 and we have about 114 students in the school. It is for students from Nursery to Class VIII. Areas are hilly and difficult for kids but in spite of that they come and parents also try to send their kids so that their future can be bright. “Captain Birdar, Indian Army.

Army School has been provided with best education facilities like Computer Lab, Library, Auditorium as well as Sports Court. Most of the students here want to become doctors and teachers.

“It is a great school with all facilities. We have a computer lab, we get books from school and a good library. We have a science laboratory and auditorium and for sports, we also have volleyball and basketball courts. It is a great school and we get good education here. If there is no school where we do not study, then I want to join IPS. I am happy that the army has opened this school.” Farooq Ahmed, student.

Indian Army has selected the best local teachers to teach in the school. These teachers are helping to ensure that these students have a strong foundation so that they can compete with students across the country.

This school was established in 2001 and since then it has been imparting education to the students. The students of this school are competing with the children of all other districts. The parents also think that Army School is providing the best education to the students. We also organize competitions in the school whether it is sports or education. We ensure that the foundation of the students is strong. Tariq Ahmed, Teacher.

The Indian Army is running hundreds of goodwill schools in the union territory, but running this school in the Machil sector is one of the most challenging due to the rough mountain ranges and cross-border tensions.
