Horrific accident on Mumbai-Pune Expressway: 6 vehicles collided with each other, the car sandwiched between the truck and the container; 4 killed 8 injured

A horrific road accident occurred on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway on Tuesday morning, in which four people died. Of the 8 injured, three are in critical condition. In this accident at Khopoli exit of Khandala Ghat, 6 vehicles collided with each other. A car sandwiched between the truck and the container and was the most damaged.

According to the Highway Police, the accident took place at 6.40 am in the Pune-Mumbai lane on the expressway. Two trucks, a container, two cars and a tempo collided in this accident. After getting information about the matter, the Highway Police reached the spot and got all the vehicles closed for an hour and started the route. Gaurav Kharat (36), Saurabh Tulsi (32), Siddharth Rajguru (31) and one other have died in this accident.

This horrific accident happened like this
The container tire running at high speed on the highway stopped in the middle of the road after getting punctured. The Swift car coming from behind collided with it uncontrollably. Four people aboard died on the spot. The car was hit by a speeding truck from behind and after that the car, tempo and truck collided one by one. However, most of the small vehicles were damaged. The injured were also traveling in these vehicles. All the injured have been admitted to Khopoli Nagar Hospital. Maharashtra Security Force, Angel Rescue Team and Khopoli, Khandala, Highway Police are engaged in rescue and relief work on the spot.

Container fire on Mumbai-Pune Expressway
A fire broke out in a container on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway on Sunday midnight. No one has died in the fire. According to preliminary information, a container going from Mumbai to Pune suddenly caught fire near Madap village. On receiving the information, police and IRB personnel reached the spot and the fire in the truck was extinguished. However, goods worth lakhs loaded in the truck were gutted in the fire.
