Singer-rapper Honey Singh has over the years gained popularity among his followers owing to his chart-topping party anthems. He has also composed several songs for Bollywood, including Desi Kalakar, Brown Rang, Blue Eyes and Love Dose. During a recent discussion with Mid-Day, Honey Singh talked about getting back in shape after a long-lasting mental battle with mental health issues.

The popular rapper told the portal, “My fans inspired me to come back and work on my album. I worked on my looks and fitness. My song Saiyan Ji was a hit but I was fat then. Songs like Dil Chori Sadda Ho Gaya became hits but fans were not very happy as they wanted to see Yo Yo Honey Singh in the video. He is the one who inspired me to be the old Honey Singh again, which is why I put so much effort into fitness. Honey Singh 3.0 is a mix of new school and old school. I hope everyone likes this version and supports and promotes it.”

Honey Singh also admitted that his inability to handle popularity, fame, money and addiction was the main reason for his career to fall down from such a height. He said, ‘When I was ill at home, I was fighting between life and death but now when I look back, it was much needed. I could not handle the money and fame, I fell into various addictions. If I wasn’t strong, I would never have recovered. in my documentary Netflix I will reveal who Hridesh Singh is.”

The rapper was recently in the news after he was accused of kidnapping and assaulting an event manager. He had responded to the allegations, calling them “false and baseless”. Mumbai’s BKC police station had received a complaint against Honey Singh and others from a person named Vivek Raman.

He wrote on his Instagram account, “The complaints and allegations are false and baseless. There is no relation or agreement between my company or the complainant which media is showing since morning. I got connected for the Mumbai show through a company named Tribevibe which is a reputed company and a subsidiary of Bookmyshow. I did my performance for the time allowed (sic). All other such allegations are false and an attempt to malign my image. My legal team is already working to file a defamation case against such miscreants.”

The singer-rapper is all set to release his latest album Honey 3.0 after nine years.
