The Delhi Police on Monday issued a production warrant against jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi for threatening to kill rapper Honey Singh. Bishnoi will be brought from Punjab to Delhi where the Punjab Police will present him in the court.
The Delhi Police Special Cell will seek the custody of Lawrence Bishnoi and if granted by the court, will interrogate the gangster in the ongoing death threat case against Honey Singh during custody.
Punjabi and Bollywood singer Yo Yo Honey Singh lodged a complaint with the Delhi Police after receiving death threats from gangster Goldie Brar last week. Significantly, Goldie Brar is accused of being behind the murder of pop star Sidhu Moose Wala in Punjab last year.
Honey Singh has received this threat through voice notes and calls. A few days ago, rapper Honey Singh met Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora and handed over some threatening audios to the Delhi Police. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the investigation of the case of threatening Honey Singh has been handed over to the Special Cell of Delhi Police, in this case the Special Cell has also registered an FIR. Speaking to ANI, the singer had said, “I was in the US when my manager received threat calls threatening to kill me. I have given a complaint to the police commissioner and they said they will look into it . I think the special cell will investigate it. I have given them all the information and evidence.”
The singer said, “I have received threats for the first time in my life and I am scared. We have also received some voice notes. We have received these threats from international phone numbers.”
Satinderjit Singh alias Goldie Brar, who is said to be hiding in Canada, is a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Last year, he had taken the responsibility of killing Sidhu Moose Wala.
