VILLUPURAM: PMK Founder-Leader S ramdoss Said that people should not be forced to learn Hindi with their mother tongues.
Ramdas took to Twitter to register his protest against the Union Home Minister Amit ShahIt is remarked that the country will progress only when all Indians use Hindi along with their mother tongue as the official language.
“It is an act of indirect imposition of Hindi,” he said.
The PMK leader said that it is not wrong to encourage people to use Hindi on Hindi Diwas.
“But to claim that the country will progress only when people use Hindi has a hidden agenda. It is wrong. It should not be said,” he said.
He said that there has been a long-standing demand to make all the 22 languages, which include Tamilas official languages ​​in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution.
“The Center should immediately fulfill the demand and ensure linguistic parity,” he said.
